This little critter was sunning him or herself on our hedge the other day. A rare non-overcast, windy, spitting fog, or otherwise disappointingly cold and wet summer day in San Francisco.

This feature is the first release of a joint venture between long time friends, training partners and now business partners Mike Rhine and Peter Pryputniewicz. The project involves martial arts and training, and in depth interviews with martial artists and athletes. Recently they sponsored this story by 2 experienced journalists in the sport of mixed martial arts.

Danny Acosta is a lead writer for Fight Magazine, has a Sirius radio show, and has interviewed just about every top level fighter in the sport. Mike and Peter have worked with him closely on several pieces for their project over the last year.

Rick Lee is a experienced Director/ Producer. He has traveled all over the world to document mixed Martial arts.

Wildflowers in front yard

Maria threw wildflower seeds around the front yard last fall, and they have thrived. These red poppies have been fascinating me with their hairy pods, the intense red petals, and the amazing stamens with caps of pollen.

Gum plant

This is the creepy looking blossom of a gum plant. Is this normal? Looks like something out of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the remake with Donald Sutherland and Leonard Nimoy).
